Schools in the Charlotte area are mainly run by each county’s board of education.  Normally, each county school system also has a superintendent.   Each school varies greatly depending on location, county, and population.  Most often, elementary school starts with a full-day session, then the students transition into a middle school at grade six, then into high school at grade nine.  Both North and South Carolina take great pride in their impressive public education success.  There is also an incredible choice of private schools based on religion or other secular classifications.  Research your child’s school system using the links we have provided below.
